Ephemeral memory

He looked at his arm and wrist, and suddenly he had this vision ... no not vision, but rather a memory of wearing a cast around his broken wrist.

But how could this be? He had no recollection of ever breaking his wrist but here he was with the memory of one. So what was this 'phantom' memory then ...? A memory floating back from past lives? Something yet to happen? A sight into a potential alternative universe perhaps? Empathetic memory from a friend ... or a stranger? Or maybe the likeliest .... insanity?

But before the possibilities could even sink in, the dive into the moment of craziness was over. Memory was gone. His normality back, yet the bizarre sensation still lingering in the background that something significant happened and he had no clue to its nature.
